happy birthdays [s'mores cupcakes]

in my couple of hours off from work this weekend (more about that later), i decided to finally share my boyfriend's and roommate's birthdays.  last weekend we had a party for them, and i made it pirate themed with the help of some dollar tree decorations.  with that, i made a treasure map out of s'mores cupcakes.

i used my aunt zena's cake recipe, marshmallow frosting, and crushed graham crackers.

marshmallow frosting ingredients:
16 oz marshmallow fluff
3 sticks unsalted butter (at room temperature)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups confectionary sugar

directions:
- beat butter in large bowl until creamy
- beat in sugar (half at a time)
- beat in vanilla
- fold in marshmallow until mixed

i think they came out great, and i finally got to use all the new cake decorating accessories mike bought me! i even made one of the cupcakes the treasure... filled with skittles. doesn't that sound like fun for a 25 and a 26 year olds birthdays?

it takes a while to get all of the marshmallow mixed in
you can see the treasure! haha

birthday boys
and of course, what is a party without jello shots??? i made over 100 in a bunch of different flavors including: lime-orange-pink lemonade, lemon-lime-lime, and strawberry-melon-gummy (the first 2 flavors are the kinds of jello i used, and the last flavor is the flavor of vodka yummmm).
